Signs of a Business

I’m excited that now people walking or driving by our store front can see a glimpse that we’re a business soon to open.  Steve and I hung up a “Coming Soon” banner in the front window yesterday and narrowly missed getting a parking ticket.  Be aware, those parking meter officers are very diligent in Ballard!

Things are moving along in all aspects of the business now. I’ve been meeting with vendors, ordering stock, and taking care of endless details. Steve’s been working hard at entering all of the product information in our point-of-sale system, and we’ve been checking in products on a daily basis (opening the boxes is fun, kind of like Christmas every day, but we’re running out of room!).

Now we’re waiting on the Health Department to get through their review of our plans before we can move forward on the inspection of the space and start putting in fixtures and merchandise. It’s a bottleneck at the City & County Health Department when it comes to Seattle plan reviews, as they only have one person in the area on the job. Can you imagine her work load?

Holly, I posted a message on myballard.com in the forum since I saw your sign asking for info. Then I found your site.

You should roll on over to myballard and let all your neighbors know whats up. Myballard is by far the best neigborhood blog I have seen and its a great way to learn what is going on.

    Holly,

Would you have a chance to meet with me in the near future for an interview for the Ballard News-Tribune. I’d like to get something about Savour up on our website as soon as possible. Let me know. Thanks.
